about
*Þunor is the name of the Anglo-Saxon god of thunder and among other things. The word Þunor is also the word for thunder in Old English.
This was inspired by the Norse sagas that Thor fights ice giants to protect his mother Jorð (Old Norse for Earth).
lyrics
Text:
Fīf īs-entas fuhton þunor,
Ān wæs ġesmiten mid his hamore,
Hē cwæl and gladu wæs Eorþe,

Feower īs-entas fuhton þunor,
Ān wæs ġesmiten mid his hamore,
Hē cwæl and gladu wæs Eorþe,

Þrīe īsentas fuhton þunor,

Translation:
Five ice giants fought Þunor
One was hit with his hammer,
He died and glad was Earth,
Now they were to tremble,
Four ice giants fought Þunor
One was hit with his hammer,
He died and glad was Earth,
Now they were to tremble,
Three ice giants fought Þunor
One was hit with his hammer,
He died and glad was Earth,
Now they were to tremble,
Two ice giants fought Þunor
One was hit with his hammer,
He died and glad was Earth,
Now they were to tremble,
One ice giant fought Þunor,
He was hit with his hammer,
He died and glad was Earth,
Now, Earth was protected,
